“The cuurent political tension across Nigeria, which has led to violence in a part of the country, Rivers State, is caused by the 2015 elecions, President Goodluck Jonathan has said.
“The president stated this at a meeting with the leaders of the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, on Thursday.
“The NBA, led by its president, Okey Wali, had asked Mr. Jonathan to intervene and take every legal action to ensure that peace returns to Rivers State.”
In a situation which cries for an immediate remedy, President Barack Obama sits idly by and does nothing, a characteristic of American foreign policy. Preferring to ignore persistent cries for help, Obama prefers to watch the train wreck rather than prevent it, as he so easily could do.
And if that’s not bad enough, there are serious animosities in other areas of Africa, India has people who don’t like each other and the former Soviet Union is rife with strife. All of which Barack Obama ignores.
Closer to home, a big part of Quebec in Canada wants to be free from the yoke of the Canadian government. The French-speaking Quebecis have for years have wanted their freedom, have wanted democracy and self-government.
Barack Obama sits on his hands, doing squat, so to speak, ignoring the emotional trauma suffered by those who only want freedom and democracy. These people are neighbors, begging for self-representation and all that for which America stands, and Obama is impervious to their pain.
Syria is just a symptom of an administration which is indifferent to cries for help from those who want freedom, justice and self-determination.
As far as that goes, the Mormon Church has some serious divisions. All it would take is a few cruise missiles to motivate them to resolve their problems. But, no. A namby-pamby President who prefers the dark rather than light just one little cluster bomb, one little missile. It is better to fire off a white phosphorus shell than to curse the darkness.
