I just bought some California Navel Oranges at the Publix across the street for $1.29/lb. That’s almost exactly what they cost in Norway.

They must really gouge Yanks over there. Nine simoleons a glass? Hell, you can get a fairly decent bourbon for that much.

I don’t look at prices either.

I don’t lose sleep worrying about whether somebody’s going to try and slip a six-dollar orange over on me.

I do try and get domestic produce when I can, but that applies to any state in the U.S.

What do fresh oranges cost in Florida?

What would that same juice cost if you did the squeezing work yourself (one medium size orange yields about 1/4 cup of juice, so a half-gallon should be about 32 oranges).

Don’t know how many oranges in a pound (answers online are all over the place).

Remember, I live in Florida, within a few hours drive of where most of the planet’s oranges are grown.
