You would have to ask the Mayor does he see himself as a righteous guy? Would he agree that he no longer has the right to be included in the liberal camp because of his actions.

I certainly judge you or anyone by their actions. It is all about how one judges himself.

That “most sexist liberal” is the guy who is in a position of power and denies a promotion for a female in favor of a male. He rationalizes his decision an goes on thinking that he is progressive and fair in all things. The conservative who does the same with a firm belief that men are superior may be a dick but he is not a hypocrite.

If you don’t realize that there are many people out there who live their lives hypocritically, you are very naive.

Do conservatives do hypocritical things, of course they do, but the homophobic conservative may be an asshole but the closet homophobic liberal is an asshole and a hypocrite.

The ultra conservative who avails himself of so-called government hand outs, is certainly a hypocrite but perhaps not an asshole.

I could go on and on with epic analogies but it is a matter of my perception vs yours and we are wired differently. Socially there is probably not a dimes worth of difference in your beliefs and mine. Fiscally and constitutionally, maybe not so much

Bottom line, I am not accusing you guys (our group) of any hypocrisy, but I do think that considering yourself a liberal gives y’all a warm fuzzy similar to the feeling that reborn Christians experience. I know that’s going to bug you but try not to worry about it.
