A question:

Why is this takeover of the medical system more important to the Democrats than anything else?

Think about it. Every time Reid shoots down a targeted bill funding something Reid says is absolutely critical, he is saying that Obamacare is more important to him than that thing is.

The Committee on Natural Resources has a interactive map showing closures/nonclosures of parks and monuments. Doesn't look like to many are adhering to this nonsense. Telling is the lake and surrounding park next to the WWII Memorial not closed off.

Here. The standard operations of the WWII Memorial, here. It's not a building, it's frigging scenery. It was blocked off specifically to prevent those old veterans from getting in and hopefully generating some pathetic anti-shutdown footage of weeping men in wheelchairs for Pravda. Note that there was no fence around the World War One Memorial. It backfired on the Democrats, big time. Those men in wheelchairs were raised in a different era.

If it wasn’t the ACA, it would have been something else.

This entire thing was engineered from the beginning by Democratic leaders to generate a shutdown, and if he’d had to Reid would have stuck some “poison pill” in a “clean” CR at the beginning of the process to stick in Republican craws. It wouldn’t be the first time. Remember the 2011 battles?

As another example, the debt ceiling fight was timed for this month by artificially “extending” it. The country’s debt has been somehow “stuck” at about $25 million under the limit since May. I checked the October Treasury statement. It’s stuck there right now.

The shutdowns are pure administration theater, designed specifically to affect people not normally politically involved. A number of things being shut down now, like the WWII Memorial, don’t even use Federal funding.

We’re being had. Don’t buy it.

Obama and the democrats have the media behind them and they are doing the bidding blaming it all on the republicans this time. Somehow it was ok to shutdown the government when the democrats were in control during the majority of the shutdowns but now for the republicans it’s a jihad.

The closure of the WWII memorial and other select sites just goes to show how they are trying to create a political scene at the expense of the republicans. For the administration to barricade memorials that are open air and normally unattended parks from WWII Vets and then threaten arrest is bizarre and a shame not to mention a waste of money.

FTR, I don’t agree with the republicans strategy linking the ACA to their demands.
