I drove across Canada last March. The warmest it got was 25F one day. Usually it was closer to 10F to 15F high, -10 to -20 at night. My little RV didn't see liquid water in it's living systems for a month. Could keep the tank liquid, but not the various small pipes. (I just got curious, there are some potable anti-freezes out there.)

Anyway, it's colder than hell up there. In Calgary, the most notable feature for miles and miles was the snowpile they build from cleared snow. Huge. Bigger than anything else in the area.

I read about the temperatures in Alberta, earlier in the month and they were comparable.
Winnipeg was colder than the freezing, inhospitable planet Mars on December 31
