The man said all the right things, and defended himself against a hostile press very well. And I’m not being facetious or catty. I actually believe him. His version of events is plausible and consistent, and I’m willing to give him the benefit of a doubt.
Unless something else turns up to contradict what he said today, he’s got a pretty good chance of putting this all behind him. But the smoking gun emails surfaced just in time for subpoenas to go out before the end of the current NJ legislature session. It ain’t over til its over, and we haven’t seen the last of this yet.
