I was on leave from Panama, buying my girl's engagement ring. A quarter caret stone with blue saphires on either side, mounted on a gold band. She was dark complected, and gold looked beautiful on her. My leave was over, and Port Columbus International shut down, right after my flight left for sunshine and beaches. I remember that storm well, but not as well as those who had to stay in cold Ohio. Cheers. That was a good one.

Usually, by this time of year I've switched to long pants and a sweater. IN fact two years ago we got a quick freeze that killed all the iguanas. But this year, I'm still in shorts, T-shirt and flip-flops. And this year in California there was no winter rainy season.
