I like fish but don't eat enough of it like I should anymore. When I fished a lot for sturgeon there was always some steaks in the freeze ready to be barbequed. In my area there was a warning about mercury and PCB's in the fish and it was recommended that you shouldn't consume it more than 3 times a week. Now I believe they recommend on eating it only once a week.

When I went charter fishing in Alaska for halibut in 03 I had them send home my catch along with a fellow fisherman from Russia who didn't want his bounty and ended up with around 45 pounds of filets. Gave a lot away and like me they all said it was the best halibut they ever had and I really enjoyed eating fish more than beef for a while.

Now I eat fish when we go out for dinner, halibut mainly since it's hard to find swordfish anymore. I keep the pantry stocked with kippered herring and often eat it with some homemade bread for a meal. I decided to look at the nutritional facts and it says 1 gram of omega 3 fatty acids per container so I'm doing something right.

Sad news with brussel sprouts causing bloating. Never noticed it though and I love them with a little Italian dressing and parmesan cheese, yummy!

I can recall spending some time as a child trying to change my family's need for the qualifier.

Tuna salad.
Tuna casserole.
Tuna fillet.

Hey, it must be a fish, right?

Also, Mrs. Kotter (Julie), on Welcome Back, liked to make her notorious Tuna Fish Casserole. Maybe it’s all the fault of Gabe Kaplan.

I am not a fish lover. It starts smelling bad to me a long time before most fish lovers notice.

I do like very fresh shrimp, fried or steamed, but I am slightly allergic so I eat it infrequently.

Kind of grim to read about having to trade off mercury for omega 3 oil. Not that it affects me all that much, since I've never much liked fish. I like tuna, and at least now I know that it's good for the oil and only a little bad for mercury. Me no longer being a kid and all.

Apropos of nothing, who calls it "tuna fish"? I backspaced out the "fish" above. Is that one of those regional word things? That's how I learned it growing up on Southern California.
