If one looks at a map, and if one understands a bit of the history of the relationship of Russia and the Ukraine, I think it’s reasonable to ask how Obama can think there is anything there which is America’s business.
The Ukraine was a part of the USSR, coveted by Hitler, and has a strong nationalist sentiment. Especially in western Ukraine. After Hitler retreated, western Ukrainians fought the Soviets, and were an ongoing pain in the butt to Stalin, and Kruschev who was in charge of that area.
It’s a bit as if the US and Texas were having problems. And having Putin threaten the US. It makes no sense.
US imperialism has led us to believe that we have responsibility for the entire world which has any assets. The hell with Africa.
