somewhere between that is. In between is not on the fence. You have to wander off in either direction occasionally, but not too far. The center is always the right way.

Since there is no real fence to guide you, the hard part is finding the center and staying close to it. It's easy to get lost and start eating those wild berries and chasing butterflies.

If they get too huffy with you just tell them to go blow it out their ass. For real. Nobody has cornered the market on being *all that*.

The Communist states that remain are either small and weak, or crazy and dysfunctional (N Korea).
---
Conservatives are convinced Liberals are at best fools or dupes of foreign ideologies, or, at worst, traitors. They fantasize of returning to some idyllic, Utopian past (before the Liberals took over) when America was truly free.

Liberals think Conservatives are, either mindless fanatics or cynical and opportunist hypocrites. They fantasize America as inevitably progressing to some glorious Utopian future which is being resisted and obstructed by the Conservatives.

Conservatives are in love with an America that never existed, Liberals are obsessed with an America that can never be. Both blame the other for their troubles.

In a way, they're both right. The truth, as always, is somewhere between the two extremes.

Well, they actually love it and leave it. I find that many retire on a Gov check to comparatively inexpensive foreign housing, some just off-shore, with cheap labor costs for housekeeping. All they need to do is visit the good ol' US of A a few times a year, and they get to remain a whining citizen.
