In their case, they had no invading cultures, so they had to invent them: the blacks and the Jews.

Its happening again in this country. And when you try to point out to these folks that this is just a historical process that has happened, with variations, many times before, they refuse to accept it. They refuse to accept it because they see themselves as special, exceptional and (dare I say it?) superior. They are the REAL Americans. “Those OTHER people do not belong here, in MY country.”

They can’t see it, but if you’re one of those OTHER people, its as plain as day. And its my country too.

There’s no reasoning with thoroughly unreasonable people.

As for Benghazi, what help could have been sent? Embassies all over the world were frantically sending signals that they were being besieged, To the war room in Washington, it must have been difficult to set priorities in all the confusion.. And there were no military units on standby that could have made it there in enough time.

Contrary to Issa’s lies, Hillary wasn’t watching it all on satellite tv, and paratroopers in battle dress weren’t waiting on warmed-up helicopters offshore and being forbidden to engage by evil liberals.

Nothing could have been done about it that night because nothing had been planned or drilled, the testimony in the hearings made that clear, at least, in the testimony that Issa tried to redact, and the failure for a plan to be ready to implement was not only due to GOP budget cuts, but would have probably not been executed anyway due to the confusion and crossed signals of that night. You’ve been in the military, you know how well the command structure is at planning missions and executing them, and how poor it is at improvising them on the fly.

As for Reagan’s complicity in Lebanon, he can’t really be blamed, any more than Carter can be blamed for the failure of the Iran hostage rescue mission, or Bush blamed for 9/11, or Hillary/Obama blamed for Benghazi, which is my whole point. Sometimes the enemy catches us off guard. That’s his job, and he’s not stupid. The Monday morning QB can always cherry pick the facts to slander someone after the fact. Carter was blamed, Hillary/Obama were blamed. Reagan and Bush weren’t.

You can’t compare Lebanon and Benghazi. Benghazi was an American pleading for reinforcements and being ignored. Lebanon was an epic fail on Reagan’s watch but he was not directly complicit in the deaths of the Marines.

They are all creeps ER. It is just a matter of how often they are creeps. I’m glad you think all is well in the USA these days. We will see what the rest of the country thinks this November

Of course it’s about money and there is nothing more creepy than a money grubbing liberal snake oil salesman.

And of course, Iran-contra was not just an impeachable offense, it was treason. Selling weapons to Iran in order to get our hostages out sure sounds like “giving aid and comfort to the enemy” to me, especially after promising the country he would “never negotiate with terrorists”. What a smarmy lying piece of crap that whole administration was. Iran-contra was the Bergdahl hostage trade on a grand scale, except it was planned to remain secret forever because it was so foul. Not that it mattered. When the smell finally leaked out, Saint Ronnie got a free pass from his patriot pals anyway. He could do no wrong.

And conducting his own private war in Nicaragua right after Congress specifically ordered him not to is also a constitutionally impeachable offense. As well as treason. In any other country he would have swung from the gallows for either one.

People were convicted and went to prison for Iran-Contra. You know I’m not making this up.

And do you really think that the Iranian hostages being released as soon as Reagan took the oath of office was a coincidence? Its an open secret that deal was arranged ahead of time. The Iranians knew it would be worth their while if they delayed releasing the embassy people until after Carter left. Heaven only knows what their payoff was.

As for Bengazi, those guys were killed on a night when a score of US embassies were being simultaneously attacked across a dozen time zones because of the reaction to the video. Nothing could be done about it while it was happening because no one knew for sure what the hell was going on. Afterwards, it didn’t really matter what happened. Issa’s tried for months to turn up a smoking gun on that and he has nothing to show for it. Nothing, zero, nada, zilch. He just used it to attack Rice, then Obama, and then Clinton, and now Kerry. Its the all-purpose conspiracy. It just all the FOX indignation and scandal factory feeding the rednecks what they want to hear because their Great White Hope, the Bush Baby, single-handedly wrecked the American Dream and lied us into a decade of war. After all, if Bengazi was all that obvious, response to the issue wouldn’t be so partisan, would it? This is just more birth certificate masturbation. Remember how sure your guys were about that?

The Right will put up with any crimes or promote any lies if they think they can get a tax cut out of it, abolish a union, get rid of some pesky regulation, or figure out how to divert cash from the working and middle classes into their own pockets. Their major policy position is to keep working people so desperate not to lose their jobs they will put up with any crap for the privilege of working just a little longer. Its no coincidence that as worker productivity, corporate profits, the stock market and executive compensation went up, salaries and employment dropped. That’s not the laws of economics, its the Republican Party Platform.

You ought to try going Up the Line yourself, sometime. You’ll see for yourself that race really has nothing to do with it. Its all about money. That’s all that matters to these creeps.
