The conservative argument: traffic laws should be abolished June 12, 2014 6:05 am mcfly

We have all sorts of traffic laws, yet people still speed, blow through stop signs and pull illegal u-turns. Clearly traffic laws don’t work, and are pointless.

Decent people drive carefully regardless of the law, so laws only serve to inhibit those who obey them. They have no impact on criminals.

No conservative can disagree with this. It’s exactly what they say about gun laws. Any law that’s not 100% effective, they argue, is just an affront to honest people, and an open door for criminals.
