If you peel back enough layers you occasionally find something useful. In the meantime, for the scientists, the reward is in the peeling.

It just means that dead people aren't eligible to win the Nobel Prize.

...or...

All is not as it seems -- again.

Higgs-Boson is a done deal, solid, a new physical constant, but, as with pi, we continue to search out that last decimal placement. The partical has been analyzed by thousands of scientists, but, as always seems the case, the conclusions have led them to new questions. A new run for the Higgs is to be scheduled for next year, but with more eyes, more recorders and more controls than ever before. Perhaps more will be discovered, perhaps not, but you can be sure that next year's run will not be the last of its kind.

The Higgs particle is believed to be the catalyst that supplied mass for the first elementary particles in the Universe and, in 2015, all stations around the globe will be aimed at CERN, just hoping for a glimpse of its latest release of elusive energies. The grand quest for a Standard "God"-Particle Model, that non-bit which actually creates nano-matter from no known measurable source, continues.

I wonder what that means. Looks as if a bunch of people do.
