Look at the rest of the Klown Kar as it loads up for 2016: Bible-bangers and others of the hallelujoid persuasion, lonesome cowboys, neofascists, wild-eyed ideologues, rednecks, Libertarian loonies, McCarthyites, corporate toadies, and bully boy thugs. And no, I'm not just slamming the GOP, there are reasonable, principled and decent Republicans out there, they just haven't got a rat's ass chance in hell of winning the nomination.

Jeb and Mitt are the only two front-runners that even remotely qualify as human beings. There are numerous lower-ranked Republicans who might make a decent President--former candidate Jon Huntsman, former RNC chairman Michael Steele, former McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt, former Secretary of State Colin Powell...I could go on. But the very fact that all their titles are prefaced by "former" is all the clue you need to realize that the GOP has concentrated itself into a toxic brew incompatible with all forms of carbon-based life.

As for the Democrats, it appears Hillary is all they've got. In my opinion, she's too old to run, both physically, and as far as her ideas and philosophy. She's just too conservative, with a small 'c'. But there is no one else on the Left that stands out with the exception of Elizabeth Warren--and she's not quite ready yet.

On the positive side, if the Republicans should manage to win in 2016, the nation will definitely be ready for Liz by 2020.
