December Arctic Ice Report January 8, 2015 10:35 am ER

Like glacier data, the Arctic ice cap is a highly sensitive barometer of climactic conditions. As in all delicate sensors, the needle jumps around a lot, but the general trend is down in December, as it is in every other month.
