Ted Cruz is reportedly declaring his candidacy for President tomorrow, and he freely admits he was born in Canada, and that his father was a citizen of Cuba. Whatever lack of legitimacy aboot the Kenyan, Muslim Socialist Makaka was alleged six years ago, is a matter of notarized and undisputed fact in the case of Senor Cruz, eh? The only difference between the two is that Cruz is white. Or at least, he’s half-Hispanic. Does that count as white in Red states?
I can’t wait for the wail of protests from the Right, the learned Constitutional logic, the convoluted legal arguments and outraged patriotic chest-beating, the indignant invocations of righteousness and nattering nativist nit-picking, even the stern and patronizing finger-wagging right here on the Zone. Remember how eloquently, how logically, they argued their case?
The Donald is supposed to be announcing his candidacy as well soon, didn’t he lead the charge of the birthers the last time? Well, he’s got all the evidence he needs this time. Proceed, Mr Trump!
Forgive me. But I do believe I’m entitled to a few I-told-you-sos and at least one Gotcha!.
