The books are not "real", in the sense the architecture of the building is, or its furnishings. But they are the reason the library is there. Everything else, the walls, floors, windows, the shelves, doors, tables, are only there to support the real function of the building: its content of books. Most people don't seem to understand that. For them, the books are just objects. Stuff that clutters the building. Its full of books, some of which you’ve read, and many others which you haven’t, but which perhaps other people have.
