Geologic activity on Pluto?  Mind-boggling.

As for the ice, once a year, it seems Pluto might be warm enough to release an atmosphere from its frozen surface, which would keep it recycling, all nice and bright.  Otherwise, the cosmic bombardment would darken a frozen, stagnant surface.
