I already do this with everyone I interface with. I talk about it here and no where else.

I am not comfortable talking about it because it is *mine*

Thank you ER.

...had a great talk about *shape shifting* neutrons yesterday with the boy. THAT was spiritual.

1) Nobody knows for sure whether or not there is a god.

2) Some people believe in god and some don't.

3) Everybody has the right to decide for himself.

4) If she asks, tell her whether or not you believe, but say nothing more about it. They have a right to know your opinion; you have no right to influence theirs.

5) Don't avoid the subject if she asks, but try to avoid bringing it up.

6)And remember, kids are profoundly influenced by their parents, but not always in a way their parents would like.

This is the way I was brought up, and I believe it was the right way. I believed in god until I was about 6 or 7, mostly because I was influenced by other kids. Then I gave up on religion and the traditional idea of a deity but stayed with the concept of a vague and remote Creator of the Universe who was either unaware of or indifferent to human concerns. By the age of 12, I came to be convinced there was no god at all of any kind; but also, that I had no way of proving it one way or the other.

A question that cannot be answered, and can't even be properly asked, is one not worth worrying about. Note: I didn't say it wasn't worth THINKING about.
