If someone were blocking the use of those frequencies in the name of security they could easily screw up those openers.

A number of my friends and I were in the vanguard of CB ownership in the early to mid-60's. I have to admit to getting drunk and on a few occasion opening and shutting my neighbors doors.

It didn't take long for the companies to switch to a two-tone system, which was almost impossible to figure out and the whole idea lost it's appeal.

We don't get important people. More likely some Randy Weaver type holed up somewhere and the feds are jamming the area with interference. There must be a logical explanation though.

Years ago, a similar thing happened in Colorado Springs. Garage doors opening or not opening for no apparent reason. There was some sort of meeting of heads of state and the secret service set up some sort of electromagnetic monitoring of some kind. I don't remember the details, and it is late here, and bedtime. I believe I posted on the HabitableZone That Was at the time. Might be worth looking into.
