You posted a link to a study that EVEN THE AUTHORS say in no way has bearing on the reality of AGW- Then you backpeddle and say that its evidence of political pressure on the scientists...

There is nothing there, TB, just a study showing that the precipitation in an area of antartica more than balances the losses...

That some disagree with the findings is hardly a shocker in the world of science...

Also, not a shocker that those that lie about the science (ie the people you get your nonsense from) jumped all over this study- in fact Zwally predicted as much:

Lead Author Jay Zwally: "I Know Some Of The Climate Deniers Will Jump On This," But "It Should Not Take Away From The Concern About Climate Warming." In an interview with Nature, the study's lead author, glaciologist Jay Zwally, warned that "climate deniers" would wrongly tout the study as proof that "we don't have to worry [about global warming] as some people have been making out

The findings do not mean that Antarctica is not in trouble, Zwally notes. "I know some of the climate deniers will jump on this, and say this means we don't have to worry as much as some people have been making out," he says. "It should not take away from the concern about climate warming." As global temperatures rise, Antarctica is expected to contribute more to sea-level rise, though when exactly that effect will kick in, and to what extent, remains unclear.

That is how predictable your side has become, the scientists know they will catch shit from you no matter what they publish...

And the rest doesn't matter to you.

I'm the one who actually discussed the science in the paper that made the study unique.

Others were linking an article dismissing the paper, "assisted" by two well-known people that are heavily into the politics of the issue. The article oddly overlooked the most important part of the study.

You can keep pretending politics has nothing to do with this, while painting "conspiracy nut" on my forehead.

When they think they have an uneducated audience they misrepresent the science... when someone challenges them with the actual science they jump to the conspiracy claims.

For those of you that remember, its very much like the arguments with James and Nancy on the old 1998 MSNBC Space board...

I don't see the $725 million that Murdoch paid for National Geographic there... But I am sure his acquisition of it wont change a thing...
https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/national-geographic-society-sets-biggest-layoff-in-its-history/2015/11/03/2966e1b4-8252-11e5-a7ca-6ab6ec20f839_story.html

I'm sorry, but if you honestly believe the scientists are either knowingly or unknowingly engaged in a conspiracy that vast then there just isn't a hell of a lot I can say. What you allege is as absurd as the the Moon hoax conspiracy theorists, and is just as plainly contradicted by the facts...

You are engaging in the same fallacy... you can never be shown that your beliefs are wrong because any data showing you to be wrong is obviously part of the conspiracy.

Yet - just as the moon hoax nuts use NASA pictures to find "evidence" they were faked, you have no problem cherry picking press releases from NASA to prove AGW is just a figment of their imagination....

The very people most qualified to speak on the subject overwhelmingly say you are wrong- but that doesn't matter because, by your assertion, the people with the most knowledge and research on the climate are ALSO the most Deluded and/or Corrupt.

Sorry TB, there is no way to argue against that brand of crazy- and I think if you are able to take a step back you have to realize how silly it is, because I do think you are fairly bright. But the science if pretty unambiguous on this- you are wrong, and I think on some level you realize this- because unlike long ago you are steering this away from the science at every turn.

All I can say is I have looked at the data and I agree with the conclusions of the scientists. I have nothing to gain from saying so- And quite frankly it is very offensive that you make such accusations against scientists and engineers that do their jobs extremely well. And it shows more than a little cognitive dissonance coming from someone who in all other areas seems to have respect for the work of scientists.

Not dancing.

Just trying to rephrase the same thing over and over until it sinks in. I'd forgotten how successful that's been in the past.

Hereby stipulated: there is no such thing as funding bias in research. Let's see how long everyone here remembers that.

P.S. Not that chart, this one:

And when you find one that actually mentions ( and better yet, measures) the ionizing radiation funneling into the north pole along the lines of force, feel free to share them.

Happy hunting!

98% of those ‘scientists’ don’t know about and definitely don’t take into account the migrating magnetic north pole.

Yeah, I am gonna have to go with the actual scientists on this one, techie...

is always happening. 98% of those 'scientists' don't know about and definitely don't take into account the migrating magnetic north pole.

More data :http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/geomag/GeomagneticPoles.shtml

If you look at how much it has accelerated, you see how much this shift will move these particle streams. In 6 years it has moved as much as it moved in half a century before. The magnetic pole will end up in Siberia - and surprise - Siberia is already experiencing a longer wildfire season and somewhat warmer temperatures.

Intuitively, based on the angle the planet holds towards the sun the poles should be frozen, but the magnetosphere is just as crucial. And our magnetosphere is weakening. If there is a *real* thing to panic about - that's the one. We (mankind) have never experienced a pole flip - where the magnetic north pole becomes the magnetic south and vice versa. If the weakening magnetosphere is linked to an upcoming flip
*we don't know how weak the magnetosphere becomes during this flip process or how long it lasts*

If the magnetosphere even drops 15-20 percent the amount of solar radiation that passes to the earth and is not diverted life on Earth is seriously screwed. And because we don't know how long or what may happen - and no one is even really TRYING to study this because it is above their scientific pay grade - they just ignore it all together. Not good.

If you want to save the planet - prepare for a non-man made radiation holocaust that might last decades. The dinosaurs might easily have been killed off by the last magnetosphere pole-flip. Radiation causes the hurricanes, tornadoes and is the climate driver. Pollution? It's almost negligible. Most of the 'pollution greenhouse warming' theories that use Mars as a model for desolation fail to realize the Martian magnetosphere is the real cause for the planet being cooked.

Mars magnetosphere

Venus versus Earth Magnetosphere:

Mars and Venus had no factories, cars or evil humans polluting their planets. It's a far safer bet that the lack of a sizable magnetosphere dictated the climate on both worlds.

If people really want to be prepared - spike research in the magnetosphere and prepare for a radiation holocaust which would include: underground cities, farms, desalination facilities to purify water for farming and drinking after land based sources dry up.

But these studies aren't about "real" threats and not about intelligent solutions. It's about grabbing at money by the corrupt.
