Why we shouldn't be worrying about the Syrian refugees. November 23, 2015 7:42 am ER

Because there are other refugees, now entering into the US from hostile Communist Cuba in colossal numbers, with little or no vetting or scrutiny, riding on the backs of the obsolete Cuban Adjustment Act of 1966, a Cold War anachronism. We’ve talked about the CAA here before, it was instituted as a means of embarrassing and undermining Castro, and he exploited it as a means of getting rid of his dissidents.

Most of these new Cubans mentioned in the article are ideologically neutral, most are just economic refugees looking for a better life, but the Cuban government could easily use this method to infiltrate all sorts of troublemakers. And of course, they coming in without vetting or control, just by waving their “get out of Cuba free” card.

Obama and the Dem and Rep 2016 candidates can be forgiven for their blindness to this issue, Americans are notorious world-wide for their inability to really understand what is going on in other countries. But of all people, Cruz and Rubio should be up to date on this issue. But there’s more political hay to be made off the Syrians.
