In case you missed it, that’s completely ridiculous. Inane. Silly. A waste of money and time. Except that it is one of the very few programs endorsed by Conservatives which provides jobs to the retarded.

When a U.S. theater gets shot up by one lone kook, it’s a national emergency. When a theater in Paris got shot up by an organized group that is acting around the world, it’s “why get scared?” Sure as hell France took it seriously. I put up examples of Obama and Canada retreating under the same kind of threat. I’m not that inspired to research any more.

“Has anybody ever said otherwise?” There are probably a dozen posts this past week pounding at me about the infinitesimal possibility of attacks by any refugee, that the very idea of worrying about it isn’t quite sane, and is obviously just part of the seething racism that infects anyone who questions the idea.

What I *did* hear, from the top of the conservative elite down to the rank-and-file was “not a single one,” or words to that effect. How many governors have we heard saying that the nation shouldn’t expect their states to accept any refugees?

Of course the Canadians believe there may be a security risk involved…has anyone, anywhere, ever said otherwise?

As for the House Bill…well, I guess I’m as suspicious of stuff that comes from the right as you are of stuff that comes from the left. Even a simple document, in the hands of lawyers, can be home to countless gotchas.

The province of Saskatchewan is presently governed by the Saskatchewan Party, an organization that splintered from the provincial conservative party.

As for the House proposals, like the Canadian amendments, I really don’t care, I know little about them. Those are just administrative details as far as I’m concerned. What I, and others here, are talking about is the remarks by Trump, Carson and other Republican Presidential candidates which are, well, I hate to be politically incorrect by invoking the N-word) nothing but pure Nazi anti-Semitism. (Arabs are, after all, a Semitic people). Even some Republicans have found these offensive.

You see, our racist lunatics are not just “proposing appropriate checks”. They are proposing much, much more than that, and they are running for President.

I have no objections to the principle or the concept of re-aligning the existing regulations to new concerns, as my posts above should make clear. That’s what the Cuban rant was about. But proposals like shutting down Mosques or placing religious tests on immigrants are totally unacceptable, as well as are the fascist swine that propose them.

To cut to the chase, yes, the Canadians delayed and altered their original program, and they did so because they believe there’s a possible security risk.
