Obama a “socialist?” I would lay heavy odds that Obama believes pretty much the same things about how to run a country that Bernie Sanders does.

Somehow I can’t visualize him looking at Bernie’s list of projects and goals, pointing to one, and saying “oh, no, that’s too much government.”

The GOP made a conscious decision when Obama was elected to oppose and block everything he tried to do even though the nation and world were in a crisis. They have continued to push preposterous lies about him his entire presidency, further feeding the insaniTEA. Yes the Democrats play hardball politics but the GOP just make shit up. Of course Democrats pounced on whatever they could on Romney, but did they name their convention on a comment taken completely out of context like the republicans did (we built it)? They had so little to offer they based the name of their convention on a lie.

Republicans are so deluded about Obama they actually believe he was watching Benghazi live and, when he could have saved them, said “fuck ‘em, let them die” to the JCOS, AND THEN the JCOS and every other member of the military command involved covered it up and lied to Congress 16 times to protect the President. How fucking stupid can your side be?!? These are the idiots supporting Trump. They were created by the deliberate misinformation dumped on them by the rightwing media alternate universe.

Heck, the word “moderate” ranked up there with “compromise” on the list of conservative four-letter words.

The characterization was sufficiently off-base to inspire a correction by Rubio–who, btw, seems to be a decent, intelligent guy.

ER below mentioned people who are “more concerned with the welfare of the nation than with their own ambition.” You think Hillary fits that description? There is nothing in her mind except ambition. Her entire career has involved clawing her way to political power.

What’s next? Invading Poland?

There is a revolt going on in the Republican Party (“You said it, they stink on ice!”), where voters and many congressmen have decided that the leadership has been going down the wrong road. Can’t tell the pigs from the men any more.

So now a lot of Republicans in Washington are ornery, individualist troublemakers, causing chaos, kicking the leadership around, and generally lowering property values. It’s the sort of thing you won’t see in the well-ordered Democratic Party hierarchy, where obedience to leaders and central authority is built into the system, and the political process is smooth and without nasty roadblocks or opposition.

On top of that, we have an election where one side looks like a professional wrestling tournament, and the other side is just waiting to hang the medal on the Party’s Chosen One.

Yeah, it’s a mess (I’m sorry, which side was “authoritarian” again? I tend to lose track).

There are a lot of bad things going on out there, including stuff that used to make news when a Republican was president. When was the last time you saw a news story on deficits or the debt? You shopped for insurance lately? I have. The Middle East is melting down, and Russia and China have decided the world might need a new policeman.

France is making us look like chickenshits! Dogs and cats, living together!

It looks like the locomotive is heading for a cliff, and people have been pushing all the proper buttons and pulling the right levers that are supposed to change course, or at least halt the careening progress, and nothing has changed.

Sometimes there comes a point where the cliff is approaching, and the only thing left to do is drop an enormous monkey wrench into the whirling gears. There might be flying shrapnel, but it could also get the job done.
