This isn’t politics, it isn’t philosophy, it isn’t even ideology. Its just hatred, pure, unalloyed, toxic, unreasoning, evil hatred. And I’m sure that’s apparent to every single person here.

Do you really expect me to sit down and calmly reason with you? Tom, you’re a very angry and bitter man. You sound like someone has done you a great injustice, not just a political injustice, but a personal deliberate malicious attack. And it has poisoned you, crippled you.

At first I thought it was just hyperbole, canned phrases coiled up and ready to be released when needed. But I’m starting to think it goes a lot deeper than that. This is straight from the limbic system, real lizard brain stuff.

I hope you can restrict it to purely theoretical and rhetorical situations, or it will surface one day in an inappropriate environment, when you least expect it and do you great harm. Or worse, it will simmer deep in the depths of your soul and eat you from the inside out until there is nothing left but a hollow shell.

Obama will be gone, soon. But I don’t think your hate will dissipate when he goes, even if he dies. It will latch on to someone or something else. And I have a feeling there is no shortage of potential targets for that vitriol. I fear you will never be free of it.

And then the lecture about twisting everything into politics. I’m sure the irony of that is apparent to at least a few people here.

But when they get there, they always find out…

America isn’t whole without an enemy. Maybe that’s why the neocons invaded Iraq…perhaps they anticipated a renewed atmosphere of mutual hostility between Islam and the west as a result, democratization be damned.

The Soviets/Russians were never an ideal enemy anyway. Too damn many of them are white, and christian to boot, even if it’s that weird Eastern Orthodox-Byzantine school. You can only demonize them to a point, after which American christians are forced to admit that they worship the same all-powerful sky king as do their eastern counterparts.

Muslims don’t present such problems to the christian conscience, especially given that many christian opinion leaders are adamant that Muslims and christians don’t worship the same gawd (even though plenty of christian scholars disagree). Coupled with the white propensity to view people of color as sub-human, and the recent discovery by Redneck Science that all Muslims are rapists, and suddenly the self-righteously indignant have found whole new reservoirs of bile to spew.

Tom, you live in a world of noble entrepreneurs and evil statists. You process everything through that filter. So it really isn’t necessary to read your posts, they always see the same universe, and always arrive at the same conclusions.

This election is all about money, and how it is to be managed. And most of the issues we spend time arguing about are either about money, or are a smokescreen to disguise the role of money.

And of course, any rebuttal or criticism to your views is automatically dismissed as the obvious response of the perverse and evil forces that threaten your existence, not to mention Truth, Justice, and the American Way. No, I don’t read your posts,because they are all the same. But I still enjoy provoking you. The ferocity of your responses reveals much more about your thought processes than your logic. At least, this is the case when you talk politics. On any other subject, you are actually quite reasonable. But you can’t stay on “any other subject” for
long, can you? Like all fanatics, you see everything that happens is the result of one prime mover, one fundamental force, one Pole around which the entire Universe rotates, ponderously.

Arguing with you is like trying to argue with a religious fundamentalist. You cannot reason with someone who is convinced everything you say or think is inspired by the Lord of the Flies.

You mentioned one line about that subject, then enthusiastically dived into your usual “reactionary economics” speech about taxes, pollution, and the Evil Rich as the drivers behind the current voter discontent. “Follow the money” you said.

I did. I pointed out what the real issues with the current election are, and how the “evil rich” weren’t actually doing so well right now.

I’m not sure where you’re getting the idea that somehow I’m “blaming” you for anything in this thread.

Nor do I understand how you could have read what I wrote and projected “entrepreneureal fantasies” or “cable TV news BS” anywhere in any of those sentences. The subject was the election, what’s driving it, how it’s not about the big donors any more, and how it’s about a lot more than just Trump.

I’m beginning to think you don’t even read my posts any more. You just make up something your straw man version of me would say and then respond to that.

I must admit, that would save me a lot of effort.

But when you answered me, you forgot all about them and started talking about your cable TV news BS and your entrepreneurial fantasies, which is all you really care about.
