A large percentage of republicans in Congress are dangerously incompetent on economics and civics, and have become reckless in foreign policy. The GOP was once considered the party with the foreign policy credentials, but now they have no idea what diplomacy even is. For any and every foreign policy challenge the answer is bombs and invasions. Clearly they are not a party fit to govern at this point in history.

Is it possible for the time to have come where a sane, rational government needs to take over? Can we still afford to drift into disaster? What do we owe the Rest Of the World?

The standards will guide textbook purchases and classroom instruction over the next decade – and maybe not just in Texas. National publishers usually cater to its demands because the school board is probably the most influential in the country. Texas buys 48 million textbooks every year. No other state, except California, wields that sort of market clout.

Money doesn’t talk, it swears. That any organization, ostensibly dedicated to education, institute these changes to textbooks simply because it is profitable, is one of the the most damning condemnations of capitalism as a philosophy I have ever seen.

The troglodytes who believe this nonsense at least are sincere, they actually are convinced it is all true, and should be taught to children. But the textbook publishers who yield to their demands do not, their actions are no more morally defensible than were I.G. Farben’s contributions to Nazi death camp technology.
