Conservatives would gladly vote for a Ben Carson, or a Herman Cain or an Allen West because they would fit in with their pro-business, low-tax agenda. On the other hand, They certainly wouldn't care much for Colin Powell, even though he's Republican.

No, the reason they hated Obama wasn't because he was black, it was because so many white voters didn't care he was black. This told them that they could no longer rely on the racist vote as a firewall against liberal politicians, a counterweight to the Black and Latino vote. They realized they had to discredit him from the start, keep him "a one-term president", to obstruct and block his every policy and appointment, even those they had once supported in the past.

The strategy was to prevent him from getting anything done, even if it meant threatening real danger to the country's financial health, credit, infrastructure, even defense. They wouldn't even define and extend his war making powers to strengthen his hand in Syria.

Well, he's leaving in less than a year, with a fairly good record, considering how little support he's gotten from Congress. And the Republican party is in shambles.

Thanks, Obama.

He turned out to be the new Hoover. Obama will be remembered as the new Roosevelt.
The president who, once again, saved capitalism from its own greed and stupidity. Or perhaps maybe he'll be remembered as the new Lincoln, the President who kept the Union together when it was threatened by rebellion.

That's why the Right hates him so much, and why right from the beginning they
have done everything they possibly could to make him a "one term president". From the start, they never intended to give him a chance.
Now they are trying desperately to discredit and obstruct him, to oppose his
policies even when they agree with them, so that his presidency will be a failure
and he can be blamed for his "lack of leadership". Its not that they are afraid
his policies won't work, its that they are terrified that they might.

It didn't work in 2012, and it won't work in 2016.

Some numbers:

Now, tell me, who was president when that giant dip in the graph happened...

And I notice you don't look at unemployment, people who don't get an income because they don't have a job.... why is that?

But the scariest part is not how unfairly the wealth is distributed.

What is really terrifying is that this distribution is becoming more and more unfair as time goes by. If these proportions and ratios remained the same you could blame it on inevitable genetic differences or economic laws. I have my own theory. Its that the more wealth you have, the more resources you have available to acquire more, to protect what you already have, and to deny it to others.

The rich would like us to believe that the poor deserve to be that way because they are stupid and lazy. They tell those who are becoming poor its because the Communists (or Socialists, or Liberals, or Democrats, or foreigners, or Blacks, or Jews, or the media, or the Hollywood elites, or the college perfessers) are out to take our freedom.

Especially inheritance, corporate and capital gains. Tax all income at a flat rate or, even better, replace the income tax with a consumer sales tax. The business majors will immediately start hiring again and give us all a big raise.

USA! USA! USA!

Obama has been a failure with the economy and world affairs for that matter.
Income inequality has soared under Obama. Guess what state has to most increase in millionaires. Hint where most lobbyist live.
Historic levels of people on food stamps and government assistance. The very people Obama said he was going to help (blacks, women & Hispanics) have seen a drop of income up to 7.5% and the rest of Americans have seen a drop over 3% of household income.

The real unemployment rate is at 10% with record number of people out of work. We have the worst economic growth in modern times at around 2% in a good quarter. The great stimulus plan of the Obama administration was a failure with hundreds of millions of dollars unaccounted for and green company owners personally banking millions of dollars while their companies folded adding to income inequality.

Hell, the great jobs czar Jeffrey Immelt of GE Obama appointed who was supposed to create jobs with his superior job knowledge was a joke and when he left office took a few managers of GE to China and started a division there when he could have created many jobs in the US. Oh the irony.

Under Obama college tuition is up, health care is up, taxes are up, the national debt is up, companies leaving the US for other countries is up and people thinking the country is headed in the wrong direction is up.

Who’s been getting all the money allowing income inequality to rise under Obama? Hint, it’s not republicans or their special interest. The fallacy that republicans are the big money couldn’t be truer than now. Wall Street, big banks, medical providers and large corporations like GE and Apple are democrat donors contributing to the problem of hurting household income not republicans.

Any society where the rich get richer and fewer, and the poor get poorer and more numerous, is inherently unstable, both socially and politically. This state of affairs cannot continue indefinitely. Conflict, and eventually civil unrest,is inevitable. The result is either revolutionary violence in an effort to produce change, or reactionary oppression in an effort to prevent it. Communism or Fascism.

Wealth is the source of political power, except in a democracy. It also strongly influences the public debate. The only way to avoid having to choose between a dictatorship of the left or right, between revolution and reaction, is to identify those who tend to benefit from the increasing inequality of wealth, and its institutionalization as government policy. And the best way to do that is to listen to what they say, and how they justify their actions. Those who will benefit from this inequality, or who believe they can benefit from it, will be readily apparent.

Americans today, whether they be on the left or right, know what is happening. They know that, as a rule, they will be poorer than their parents, and that their children will be poorer than they are. This is now becoming apparent, and after a century of economic progress and the creation of a growing and prosperous middle class, the retrograde shift to a nineteenth century socioeconomic model is now becoming apparent.
