In TrumpWorld, everything is somebody else's fault. What kind of President would this man make? He dodges responsibility like your garden-variety scouldrel.

If you can't defeat an enemy outright, then just throw a monkey wrench into the system. Obstruction, sabotage, terrorism. But so does Trump. In fact, the tactic has been employed by legislative Republicans since Obama got elected.

The demonstrators know this, too. Their protests are not openly conducted in the street, with dignity and peace, where they can make their point without obstructing the free speech of others. As for the violence, there is no need to deliberately initiate that. It is bubbling just under the surface anyway, it will erupt at the slightest provocation.

Trump welcomes these demonstrators, it only reinforces his own narrative that he is bravely fighting the traitors out to betray America, as well as the establishment weaklings in his own party too cowardly or corrupt to defend it. It also gives an opportunity to blame the trouble on your enemies, whether or not they are responsible for it. Trump has already singled out "Communist Bernie" as the instigator of the demonstrators at his rally.

Its an old tactic, Hitler and Mussolini both employed it. Fascists need to get their followers to collaborate in the chaos, it implicates their people in their crimes, it builds solidarity, confuses their enemies when they win, and provides ready-made martyrs for the cause when they lose.

Trump is desperately seeking his Horst Wessel. I'm sure he'll have one by election time.
