If you take a step back, and you are honest with yourselves you MUST know how this will go. Trump will make ever more outrageous and abhorrent statements and you will be faced with the choice of defending him, or admitting that perhaps your previous support of him was baseless.

You WILL- if you haven’t already- be forced to accept and endorse statements and positions that just a year ago you would have found indefensible. THINK a moment- if someone told you last year that you would be endorsing for president someone that repeatedly retweeted white supremacists, advocated for war crimes, openly encouraged violence at his rallies- you would have said you NEVER would ever support someone like that.

Yet here you are- supporting and defending Trump now- that should make you angry… Angry with Trump for putting you in this position, and angry with yourself for letting him do it. Instead you just accept each new outrage- as if you are helpless to resist what he is doing to you. Why is that?

Maybe it is time that you ask yourself that question. Why am I becoming someone that I would reject just a year ago? Are you so swayed by bluster, bravado and bullshit that you abandon your ethics? Are you so obsessed with ‘winning’ that you will latch onto the first person that calls all the other options ‘losers’?

Your time is running out- you need to decide soon, what kind of person you are… are you someone that supports a candidate after reasoned consideration, or are you a mindless follower of whomever will tell you what you want to hear- surrendering your morals and ethics to a loud ‘strong-man’?
