Those are worth noting and comment. As soon as I see Billy Graham, and Fox News, Donald Trump and Cruz repudiate Conservapedia I’ll agree with you. Until then I believe it’s fair to comment upon it as representative of a fair number of the folks at whom it’s directed.

I’m a Southerner, Frank. I know exactly where the term “Uppity” comes from, who uses it and who its used on.

Yeah, I know I’m better off than most. The difference with me is that I don’t claim its solely my hard work, civic virtue and moral superiority that has led me here (as opposed to that lazy, shiftless 47% that wants a free ride at the expense of their betters).

I’m honest enough to admit to myself how much a role progressive government policies (not to mention sheer luck!) have had to do with my modest success. I see that is a legitimate debt I owe to my country, one I feel honor bound to meet. I’m not looking for excuses not to pay it back.

There’s a difference between the KKK and the “drooling lowbrows” who created conservapedia: The drooling lowbrows have been a key part of the Republican strategy since 1980. The KKK, no to so overtly.

I’m starting to have a more favorable opinion of Nationalism. I’ve heard just about enough of how I should be ashamed of this country. I’m tired of hearing you talk in disdain about being patriotic and mocking those that feel that way.

I’m reading a good book about the Weimar Republic.

It was like that.

But the only reason I have any savings is because I went to college, and had good jobs all my life. And the only reason I could do that is because I went to a state-supported school on the GI Bill and bought my house with a VA loan. As for that 401(k), you know how that works: a government insured tax-deferred savings plan administered by the government. If you do your accounting honestly, you will see the middle class has benefited handsomely from government programs, probably even you. It’s not just the welfare queens.

Besides, I’m not a middle class conservative. I’m a working class liberal. That tends to make a big difference in one’s outlook on life.
No one sees the world as it is, we see it as we are.

You really should give that some thought.

I don’t know too many Muslims personally, but the ones I do know are not terrorists. But I’ve been around people like those
