As conservatives stack stupidity (Trump, eg) upon stupidity (Cruz, eg, and then add stupidity (intelligent design, eg), and promote these ridiculous notions as so-called news (Fox, eg), when they add somethinng like "Conservapedia" to the mix it's deserving of comment.

After all, it's not the first screwy idea nor is it the last attempt to distort reality and dupe the already intellectually challenged. Bubba has his guns at the ready to defend to the death his right to be stupid and all the various ways Conservatives have to foster, promote, enhance his ignorance simply make him more dangerous.

Those are worth noting and comment. As soon as I see Billy Graham, and Fox News, Donald Trump and Cruz repudiate Conservapedia I'll agree with you. Until then I believe it's fair to comment upon it as representative of a fair number of the folks at whom it's directed.

Or "Uppity Nigger"?

I'm a Southerner, Frank. I know exactly where the term "Uppity" comes from, who uses it and who its used on.

Yeah, I know I'm better off than most. The difference with me is that I don't claim its solely my hard work, civic virtue and moral superiority that has led me here (as opposed to that lazy, shiftless 47% that wants a free ride at the expense of their betters).

I'm honest enough to admit to myself how much a role progressive government policies (not to mention sheer luck!) have had to do with my modest success. I see that is a legitimate debt I owe to my country, one I feel honor bound to meet. I'm not looking for excuses not to pay it back.

Well Rob, only if you want to have any credibility when you hold up that article as invalidating whatever the hell ER's point was.

There's a difference between the KKK and the "drooling lowbrows" who created conservapedia: The drooling lowbrows have been a key part of the Republican strategy since 1980. The KKK, no to so overtly.

But hey, you can characterize the Religious Right as "drooling lowbrows" if you want. That's your privilege.

I’m starting to have a more favorable opinion of Nationalism. I’ve heard just about enough of how I should be ashamed of this country. I’m tired of hearing you talk in disdain about being patriotic and mocking those that feel that way.

Heil Trump

I'm reading a good book about the Weimar Republic.

It was like that.

But the "dole", as you so cavalierly dismiss it, is my income and working capital. And so far I haven't had to dip into savings.

But the only reason I have any savings is because I went to college, and had good jobs all my life. And the only reason I could do that is because I went to a state-supported school on the GI Bill and bought my house with a VA loan. As for that 401(k), you know how that works: a government insured tax-deferred savings plan administered by the government. If you do your accounting honestly, you will see the middle class has benefited handsomely from government programs, probably even you. It's not just the welfare queens.

Besides, I'm not a middle class conservative. I'm a working class liberal. That tends to make a big difference in one's outlook on life.
No one sees the world as it is, we see it as we are.

...is because of Social Security, my state pension, and Medicare: none of which I would have if the political party that cultivates and panders to these troglodytes gets its way. I'd either be working as a Walmart greeter, or not working at all, or too sick to work.

I don't know too many Muslims personally, but the ones I do know are not terrorists. But I've been around people like those
responsible for that website all my life. They are legion.

that liberals revel in believing that more than a small minority of conservatives are in lock-step with this drivel, but they have no problem accepting the premise that only a few bad Muslims are giving Islam a bad name.

Anybody can start a web site.If you spent hours prowling around that site, you have way too much time on your hands.
