If Obama were indeed all that Trump says, as POTUS with 7 1/2 years in office he would have had plenty of opportunities by now to wreck the country completely. Even those who despise Obama would realize this if their reason wasn’t so clouded by their hate, and if they weren’t so afraid to admit to themselves they are not only wrong, but that they have fooled themselves. Instead, we have the strongest economy on the planet, The Islamist world is at war with itself and he’s raining drones on ISIS leaders like a mad fucker.

I wouldn’t worry about Trump. I would worry about those who will follow him. I don’t think it has even occurred to them yet that Obama won’t be here by February.

In that same interview, Trump was asked to explain why he called for Obama to resign in light of the shooting and he answered, in part: “He doesn’t get it or he gets it better than anybody understands — it’s one or the other, and either one is unacceptable.”

Trump has dragged the US so far down no one is even shocked by what he spews anymore…

They are desperately trying to come up with something, anything, that counters the swell of public support the LGBT community has generated in the population at large. Homophobia is the last traditional bigotry button they have left, and they seem determined to keep pushing it as long as they can before it is lost to them forever.

Fox News host Steve Doocy asked, “So, why is the Obama administration pushing to take away life-saving armor” like Kevlar helmets and BearCat vehicles from the police, noting that both were used to save lives during the June 12 mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando. But neither item is included on a list of prohibited police equipment President Obama created in a May 2015 executive order, which prevents the federal government from transferring certain items to local police departments and the departments from buying those items with federal dollars.

Using homophobia to fan up the Right-wing political base just doesn’t work any more, and even as a purely cynical tactic; neither does anti-Semitism, McCarthyism, or racism. Bigotry has become politically counter-productive. Except for Mexicans, the Right is running out of scapegoats.

Maybe that gives us a clue why Conservative propagandists seem to be relying so strongly on anti-Muslim rhetoric. Its all they’ve got.
