Depends on the vehicle.

A Shuttle, once the solids drop off, is as smooth as an elevator while running on the LOX/LH2 engines. I hear the first stage of a Saturn 5 was kind of rough, too. So far, no SpaceX or Blue Origin vehicles have carried passengers. The first recovered SpaceX Dragon capsule some years ago carried a cheese.

But the reports from those who have done it is that the initial ride up through the atmosphere is bumpy, shaky, loud and in general terrifying. I read about one guy who refused to do it again, several others who have said if there were any other way to get up they would take it.

Last one had a bit of a list to it.

One of the landing leg shock absorbers got overloaded, and ended up giving it a definite "Tower of Pisa" look. Could have easily tipped over.
