NBC Nightly News reported Meredith McIver, a long time Trump ghostwriter (who has actually penned some of his entrepreneurial chest-beatings) and who now has accepted responsibility for the "plagiarism", is actually a registered Democrat.

And just when it looked like we had stopped talking about it...its back in the news again. Brilliant!

Normally, I would think of this kind of campaign dirty trick as being somewhat underhanded and unfair, but after hearing Republicans spend the last few days insulting, libeling and slandering Hillary, (while unable to come up with one coherent argument why their candidate should be elected) I'm finding it very difficult to work up any sympathy for these flag-waving sleazebags and and ten-gallon hypocrites. Remember we're talking about the pushers of a Kenyan, Muslim and Socialist Obama, rumor-mongering about his educational background, accusations that his mother was a prostitute and savage ridicule and hatred of his First Lady. Let's not forget. THis is the party of Swiftboats and Breitbart.

Ms McIver's torpedo hit its mark, right on target, and it got past the scrutiny of all the Donald's minders and henchmen, right under their noses. Bravo. Sometimes the pen is mightier than the sword, a lesson bellicose illiterates need to be taught periodically.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/20/us/politics/melania-trump-convention-speech.html?_r=0

The speechwriters, Matthew Scully and John McConnell, sent Ms. Trump a draft last month, eager for her approval.

Weeks went by. They heard nothing.

Inside Trump Tower, it turned out, Ms. Trump had decided she was uncomfortable with the text, and began tearing it apart, leaving a small fraction of the original.

Her quiet plan to wrest the speech away and make it her own set in motion the most embarrassing moment of the convention: word-for-word repetition of phrases and borrowed themes from Michelle Obama’s speech at the Democratic convention eight years ago.
