...but I keep being drawn to the old classics. I'm currently looking for some budget prices for Tom Jones and Seven Days in May (both from 1964).

So far, in ER's classics collection, are

Moby Dick (Gregory Peck)
The Double Helix (Jeff Goldblum)
The Thing (Ken Tobey)
War of the Worlds (Gene Barry)
Cabaret (Liza Minelli)
The Ring Trilogy (Ian Mckellar)
Master and Commander (Russel Crowe)
Ulysses (Kirk Douglas)
Gorky Park (William Hurt)
Ex Machina (Alicia Vikander)

Thanks for the recommendations! I've heard of each movie, of course, but haven't gotten to any of them yet. I'll rectify that.

Having not seen Barry Lyndon is a black mark on my claim to be a fan of the late, great Kubrick. There's actually one other movie in which I enjoyed Ryan O'Neill's performance: What's Up, Doc. It may sound like a trivial movie--hell, it may *be* a trivial movie--but I've always loved the so-called screwball comedies, of which it's a fine example. None of the performances are deep, but the movie still makes me laugh, some 45 years after I first saw it. Imho, it still stands as one of cinema's most joyful romps.
