Alas, I have to report that in a conversation today, Attila the Republican assured me that he shares that calm confidence that a vast majority of the American People really support Donald Trump, deep in their fearful white hearts. We're all going to be sorry for doubting the Donald, come November. Real sorry. A few months ago, just before the Florida primary (he's in the Panhandle), when I asked him if he'd be voting for Trump, he was derisive: "Are you <i>kidding me</i>?" (poor guy voted for Cruz in a futile gesture of protest). But the true Authoritarians know how to fall in line so well, when the time comes and the marching orders come down. Today, I kid you not, he's actually forgotten that he was ever not a Trump supporter. Nope, no contradictions here. Not for long. So if they really believe a Trump Presidency will be of value to their cause, why do they say so publicly? It can only hurt him, and by association, them.
