Admission was free. It was the best show in town. It was a hoot, and the crowd reminded me a lot of the participants of Trump rallies. The only difference was <em>that</em> audience was poor white trash, while the current audience is white trash <em>with</em> money--who are desperately afraid they might lose it. You're right that what we see as reasonable and logical--Trump falling on his sword in shame--occupies a perceptual void over there. Read a theory in, I think, The Atlantic, that the intensity of their inchoate rage toward and hatred of Hillary is in direct proportion to their need to justify supporting Donald Trump. The more horrible he is, the even-more-horrible Hillary Clinton <i>must</i> be. No matter how great the risk of ripping apart the fabric of space and time with Gotterdamerung berserker rage. But if I had to make a bet, I would bet that by the end of it Trump will be bleeding from his 'wherever'. If I had kids, I wouldn't let them watch it. Now it really will take a miracle for Trump to win... If Clinton has a major gaffe like, say, dismembering and eating a baby on stage then the polls might narrow... depends on how cute the baby is, I suppose.
