I still marvel at how it feels like we’re in a divorce with a truly crazy ex, who’s shrieking “take the house! take the car! take the kids! I’ll keep the debts!”. Sure, liberals can take sole possession of science and rationality and general human decency, but really, there’s plenty to go around, and we’re willing to share. The Enlightenment isn’t a zero-sum game.

You can’t argue with that kind of logic.

Trump’s “rationale” is that it’s impossible to have reviewed 650,000 emails in just a week. Actually, to somebody who knows that emails have headers with unique ID strings, the question is why it took them a week to determine that these were just duplicates? That’s a few seconds of database time at most. But maybe a week of FBI programmer time in Trumplandia.

Yeah, it needs to be dealt with harshly. I hope Obama’s just waiting to get past the election before he has some FBI agents do the perp walk.

Since my letter, the FBI investigative team has been working around the clock to process and review a large volume of emails from a device obtained in connection with an unrelated criminal investigation. During that process we reviewed all of the communications that were to or from Hillary Clinton while she was Secretary of State. Based on our review, we have not changed our conclusions that we expressed in July with respect to Secretary Clinton. I am very grateful to the professionals at the FBI for doing an extraordinary amount of high-quality work in a short period of time.

The senate is another matter, and if the GOP wins it they have the FBI to thank for it. THAT is one of the more disturbing things to come from the election- a total breakdown of the institutions, a cabal in the FBI actively working to use their authority to subvert the democratic process.

THAT is appalling, and needs to be dealt with harshly and ASAP.

Even if the GOP loses control of the Senate, it’ll still be able to wield the filibuster to obstruct Clinton. I hope the Democrats change the filibuster rules if they get a majority, and put a stop to that shit.

It seems like only yesterday (two weeks?) I staked out 37% for Trump in the pool. I covered my ass with a caveat about an October Surprise, but holy shit, I never imagined the FBI putting its thumb on the scales.

It’s actually close. It’s hard to get my head around that.

Continued crippling of the supreme court, continuous frivolous impeachment hearings, repeated government shutdowns… I will have to get used to months without pay during the shutdowns.

There is only one acceptable outcome, let’s hope we get Clinton AND a Democratic senate…
