He thought he was handing the GOP an olive branch by appointing a Republican to a high position in government. In return, he got it jammed into his eye, instead. What did he think, that Republicans would suddenly become reasonable and meet him half way in judgeship and agency head appointments, or that they would help by approving moderate Justices to SCOTUS? You can't meet these Right wing scoundrels half way. They are vicious, treacherous and vindictive. They mistake compromise for weakness and moderation for cowardice; its their way or the highway. Comey's little maneuver was designed and timed to cripple the Clinton campaign at its most critical moment, when no time was left for it to recover, but rigged so that when nothing came of it he could still claim it was just an innocent gesture.

Obama's biggest mistake as President has been in trying to meet these Nazis halfway, in treating them fairly and decently, and in making himself vulnerable to them in order to get a dialog started. They have spit in his face and stabbed him in the back from day one, and they have done it openly and proudly, even questioning his legitimacy to serve as Commander in Chief. They figured if the country lost its credit rating, or if the government shut down, or if Congressionally-approved agencies couldn't get their Directors approved, the damage to the nation could all be blamed on Obama's "failure to lead". They even denied him military powers he asked for to implement his "red line" in Syria, essentially giving the Russians the green light to intervene. The current SCOTUS obstruction is not an isolated event, it is part of a House pattern that has been in place now for eight years.

If Clinton gets elected do you really think they going to pass on ANYBODY she puts up for a judgeship or cabinet post or Supreme Court Justice, no matter how reasonable and moderate? They're gearing up for another 4 or even 8 years without a 9th justice--however long it takes to get one of their Sleazeball Vegas Houseboys in the White House. Of course not, they are already making public plans to prevent her from governing, even if it means hamstringing legislation and programs they would approve in a heartbeat if a Republican were in the White House. You cannot reason or negotiate or compromise with bullies like this. All they understand is what Bill Clinton used to call "teeth on the sidewalk". Hillary is no Obama. The GOP's intransigence and treachery has used up much of their political capital, and they are weak and divided. Hillary will not make the same mistakes Obama did. She doesn't have to prove she's gentle because she's not a black gentleman. She's going to be exactly the white bitch she's been painted as by the Right, and I hope she has the votes in Congress to do it.

I'm not surprised "our" Republicans are lurking. If I were them I would be hiding in shame too.
