or any other compound associated with weird dreams.

But I've had similar dreams for the last few years (not very frequently, but often enough to know they are somehow related to changes in my internal wiring). I also learned that they, like several other types of dreams (not being prepared for an examination, showing up late for an appointment, being caught naked in public, having your teeth fall out, being chased by a monster or wild beast, flying, falling, or being in a fight where your punches seem to have no effect on your opponent) are common enough that they are probably a result of normal human brain architecture and function than any kind of pathology.

As for the statistics of being a gunshot victim, I agree wholeheartedly with you, when those odds are applied to the population as a whole. But in my case, I feel the odds are in my favor. The gun I own has many safety features, and I am quite familiar with its operation, professionally trained in its use, and I practice with it periodically. There are no kids in the house, and I am fairly certain my wife is not going to shoot me in a rit of fealous jage.

I'll take my chances. Guns are like chain saws; dangerous as hell to the careless, but useful tools nonetheless. People injure themselves with knives all the time, too, but I've yet to see a kitchen without any.

I do agree that firearms have no place out in public, no one has the right to inflict his on strangers in the street. But I draw the line at my doorstep. Inside my house, I am entitled to make the rules.

It can cause hallucinations- when I tried it ~20 years ago as a sleep aid it caused vivid (and rather horrifying) audio hallucinations that would wake me up...

...and I am sure I don't need to tell you the statistics on who a gun in the home is most likely to harm...
