Its all probabilities, of course, but in general, the better off you are to begin with, the more likely you will be to benefit from his administration in the long run.

Everyone that defended him...

Needs to be held PERSONALLY responsible for what happens as a result...

And the GOP forever should be remembered as "The Party of Trump".

Their man is so cringeworthy even they are embarrassed. But they want those tax cuts and deregulation and all the other rich guy welfare and socialism they feel the ownership class is entitled to. They certainly can't afford to admit to Democrats how badly they've screwed up (and certainly not to themselves!). And most of them dare not admit to themselves that they aren't even ownership class. They work here just like the trogs do.

So we're getting a lot of "He just got elected, let's give him a chance." (Just like they gave Obama). Or, "After all, he did win the election. He's what the majority of the American people want." (Well, a gerrymandered electoral majority.) Hell, he isn't even what a majority of the Republican Party wanted. You've noticed they don't come here to defend their man, they only show up to gloat that the Democrats lost. It's almost as if they were saying "God is punishing America for having elected Obama, and giving Hillary the popular majority."

But the Republicans already have their excuses ready. Trump is making Dubya look like a statesman. They will point out whatever he does they like as evidence of the righteousness of his Conservative bona fides. As for his fuckups, they will fall back on the old GOP standby, "Well, he's not a REAL Conservative." As usual, they'll have it both ways.

Don't worry, eventually the GOP will have to step in and get rid of him, through impeachment--or worse, I suspect Mr Trump will resign unexpectedly due to "health reasons". Its not Trump I'm afraid of. America will eventually be able to absorb and repair his damage, and will even profit from the lesson: we are not, and never were, a nation of shopkeepers.

What I fear is whoever the Right replaces him with will carry out his program but do it with some competence and guile--and some cleverly concealed ruthlessness. That scares the shit out of me.
