…and on top of that some meta-optimism, because it’s definitely a self-reinforcing crowd thing: The more people visibly resist, the more will be encouraged to resist.

I don’t see Trump slacking off on the outrages, so the outrage will continue to stoke the protests and criticism and ridicule.

I rarely hope for a positive feedback loop in social/societal situations, but there are rare times, like this, when it’s a virtuous cycle.

That they had a different POV, that they were guided by different interpretations and different philosophies, perhaps even a different psychological, cultural or family history. That they just put a different spin on things because they couldn’t help themselves.

But after watching the extraordinary mental contortions they are capable of when defending their latest champion, or even worse, the way they just look the other way and pretend nothing is happening, I have had to reconsider my evaluation of them.

Their ideology is simply morally corrupt, emotionally barren, spiritually desolate and intellectually bankrupt. “It’s not just a question of ‘misunderstood’, deep down inside they’re no damn good.”

Podrock, Democrats have wrecked and burned things, physically attacked opponents, isolated themselves in “safe spaces,” threatened electors with death, screamed about secession, entertained assassination fantasies, ginned up artificial controversies by the dozen, and in general have been throwing foaming tantrums since the election.

Basically, they’ve been doing everything liberals predicted the Republicans would do after Hillary’s inevitable victory, and even invented a few more things of their own.

People on this board have been at the forefront of this endless raving, with some posts reading like the manifestos the police might find in a search of an assassin’s house.

So I guess I’m basically curious as to what exactly you would consider “hardball.”
