I wonder how he was deceiving them.  Was he covering up that Exxon researchers had uncovered evidence of real climate change?  (As you brought up in a post recently yourself, RL.)  Or was he covering up the evidence of the climate change itself?  The distinction is a subtle one, but it is important. 

After all, threatening the global climate and world civilization for a little short-term profit is one thing.  But lying to the stockholders is unforgivable.</description>
