Not only that, these are fairly faint stars, like our sun, from their spectral type, so they must be fairly close to us to be bright enough to be included in the Sloan Survey.  This would  mean there is an inordinately high number of ETI species with this type of technology all fairly close to earth.  This in turn implies that there must be an enormous number of intelligent species in the galaxy RIGHT NOW, all of which have come up with the same way of communicating with their neighbors. Not even the most optimistic interpretations of the Drake Equation suggest intelligence is THAT common in the Milky Way. And certainly no one has ever suggested all the intelligent species have mastered the same technology at about the same time.

This ETI conclusion can be ruled out from purely statistical arguments.  The alleged signals are either an artifact of the analysis technique, (i.e., an error) or an obscure and as yet unknown physical (and completely natural) process peculiar to these stars.</description>
