Did anyone else see Megan Kelly interview Alex Jones last night? June 19, 2017 8:51 am hank

RL is right. To put words in his mouth, anyone who can take this guy seriously cannot be reasoned with. Neither can anyone who votes for a Presidential candidate who takes Jones seriously. This is not an ideological question, it is self-evident fact and if you don’t see it I am not going to waste my time trying to explain it to you.

Jones is not Kristol, or Krauthammer, or Will, or even Sununu, Bolton or Gingrich. He’s not even Limbaugh. And there is nobody on the Left who comes even remotely close to him in toxicity, and certainly not in followers. The fact that this man is as influential as he is tells me the audience he appeals to (I estimate about 30-40% of the American adult population) simply is unqualified to participate in democratic government. It’s not due to a failure of ideology, its because of a sheer lack of intellect.

But the very fact that this generation of vipers has managed to legally and constitutionally take control of our country cannot be blamed just on them. The rest of us share the blame, due to complacency, cowardice, laziness, or selfishness.

Yeah, I know Conservatives bristle at Hitler metaphors, but….Adolph Hitler gained power constitutionally, even though the majority of the German people never took him seriously. But once he gained power, for whatever reason, the populace refrained from active opposition, and the governing and propertied institutions of the nation started falling right into line, hoping to profit from his charisma and dynamism: The capitalists, the press, the army, the courts, the churches, the intelligentsia, the bureaucracy, the universities, the provincial administrations.

I don’t think Mr Trump fully realizes the power he has at his command, he is not that complex and subtle a man. But those in his own party who wish to use his appeal to further their own agenda are perfectly ready to use him while they can, and replace him when he becomes no longer useful. They are perfectly aware of that source of power, how to exploit it and turn it against anyone who opposes them.

I have a very bad feeling about this.
