The emperor is naked. As always, the Trump mellerdramma tells us much more about his constituency and their philosophy than it does about him. The Conservatives have no program, or ideology, all they have is a hatred of Liberals.

They sound like a mother who’s son has just been arrested for a string of horrible crimes, proclaiming through her tears; “He would never do anything like that. He’s a good boy.”

You do realize what that means. No matter what he does, or how solid the proof against him is, she will be willing to forgive him and let him go so he can do it again.
