Now, Tefft’s father says he and the rest of the family are 100 percent against his son’s racist beliefs.

In a letter published Monday in The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead, Pearce Tefft wrote that he and other family members ”wish to loudly repudiate” their son’s “vile, hateful and racist rhetoric and actions.”

“We do not know specifically where he learned these beliefs,” Pearce Tefft wrote. “He did not learn them at home.”

In the letter, the elder Tefft said he has taught his children that “all men and women are created equal” and that “we must love each other all the same.”

“Evidently Peter has chosen to unlearn these lessons, much to my and his family’s heartbreak and distress,” Tefft wrote.

He went on:

We have been silent up until now, but now we see that this was a mistake. It was the silence of good people that allowed the Nazis to flourish the first time around, and it is the silence of good people that is allowing them to flourish now.

Peter Tefft, my son, is not welcome at our family gatherings any longer. I pray my prodigal son will renounce his hateful beliefs and return home. Then and only then will I lay out the feast.

Other relatives of Pete Tefft are also publicly disavowing him.

Jacob Scott, his nephew, released this statement to local station WDAY TV:

Peter is a maniac, who has turned away from all of us and gone down some insane internet rabbit-hole, and turned into a crazy nazi. He scares us all, we don’t feel safe around him, and we don’t know how he came to be this way. My grandfather feels especially grieved, as though he has failed as a father.

He will burn down the country, the world, before he allows himself to be publicly outed as the loser he is.

And all those knuckle-dragging shitheads carrying assault rifles in Charlottesville? What do you think they will do when the president himself calls on them to live out their murderous fantasies?

They will consider it a legal hunting license…

Unless Trump is removed from office fairly quickly, I think we’re gonna have ourselves a real bad shitstorm here.

And the other side stands against them.

Whether you voted for this president or not, this is your chance to decide which side you are on. Either you are on the side of an ideology of hate, an ideology that celebrates the enemies our nation labored to vanquish, or you are on the side of the constitution and the American ideals it represents.

If you ally yourself with Nazis, bigots, fascists, and Russian dictators for no other reason than “it’s the opposite of what the Democrats would do” then you must realize that history will damn you. You will become a cautionary tale taught to your children and grandchildren- a lesson on the dangers of bigotry and ignorance.

Two sides- our nation’s future depends on which one we collectively choose. Sadly, it is clear which side the president has chosen.

That’s absolutely right, and there is a reason for it. The Right DOES have a program, but they dare not spell it out in full detail. Instead they rely on embracing anything that opposes what their enemies favor. “Nazis, and racists, russian dictators and misogynists” are not their enemies. Democrats, Independents and moderate Republicans are their enemies.

Whatever future the Right is devising for us cannot be realized unless their opponents are completely discredited. neutralized, or if necessary, liquidated.

So one nutjob lefty shoots up a Conservative baseball practice, and its a “left wing conspiracy of violence and hatred”. Some hippy Occupiers camp out on Wall Street as protest and its a Communist plot for world domination. But the Klan and the Nazis riot to promote white supremacy with Nazi and Confederate symbols and that is “violence on many sides”.

Haven’t you heard? One smarm now circulating in enlightened right wing circles is that racist/fascist elements in society are insignificant and irrelevant and no one would even be aware of them if they weren’t being publicized by the progressive media. So you see, It’s all really the Liberals’ fault.
