The fact remains, no nation possessing nuclear arms has ever been occupied or even invaded by a foreign enemy. You can't blame small countries afraid of big ones for developing nukes any more than you can blame a timid suburbanite from keeping a pistol on his nightstand, or a small shopkeeper for having one behind the counter. The fact that children, terrorists, criminals or the insane can easily acquire these weapons, legally or illegally, or that they can be discharged accidentally or used in a suicide, is irrelevant. What's good for the goose...etc. There's a lot of very good reasons why Iran or N Korea shouldn't have nukes, but no supporter of unrestricted 2nd Amendment "rights" has any business to invoke any of them. The metaphor is airtight, any attempt to rationalize it away is hypocrisy.
