I tend to agree with General Kelly’s remarks about the latest flap concerning Trump’s “He [dead serviceman]knew what he was getting into” remarks. They are more evidence of a clumsy way of speaking and thinking, or a failure to speak tactfully in a very delicate conversation, than of any actual malice on his part. In other words, the remarks were unfortunate, but not unforgivable. And I also agree with Gen Kelly that it was bad form for the Congresswoman to exploit the conversation for political gain.

But the rest of this kerfuffle, the shameful lies, the oh-so-predictable knee-jerk attempt to hang it all on Obama, and the disgraceful episode of the $25K check, is pure Trump. The man’s got the Brown Thumb: everything he touches turns to shit.

They aren’t the patriots they claimed to be- they voted for a man that denigrated a POW, declared the US equivalent to Russia, openly praised dictators… and whose campaign collaborated with the Russians to subvert our election… hell, he even openly asked Putin for assistance on Live TV.

They denied they were bigots, yet they elected a man that openly encouraged neo-nazis… he brought them into the administration, he defended them after they killed people that dared stand against their white supremacist messages. And now the racists are crawling out of the woodwork across america- emboldened by a president that is one of their kind.

They denied they were fascists, but they voted for a candidate that openly talked about doing away with constitutional protections… encouraged violence against protesters, casually talked approvingly of committing war crimes…

They claimed the moral high ground, yet voted for a man that boasted of committing sexual assault. Remember how upset Jody and Rob were about the prospect of refugee Muslims coming over here to rape american women? Well they voted to make sure those raping jobs stay right here at home- and now DeVos is doing away with protections against sexual assault at schools, and a man that bragged about grabbing women by the pussy is in the white house.

They claimed to be supporters of science, yet they voted to declare war not only on science, but on reality as well.

They showed themselves for what they were- they aren’t just an opposing point of view- they are nihilistic barbarians at the gate, threatening not just our nation- but all of humanity.

Never again will they be able to attempt their charade with us… they revealed themselves to us, and to themselves… they had to admit to themselves that they were willing to throw away all those ideals they claimed to have, and to side with neo-nazis if it meant they could ‘win’- even if it was ‘winning’ in name only.

THAT is how cheaply the ‘conservatives’ held their ideals.

And with their win they lost the ability to pretend they were anything other than the trash they always really have been.
