I felt guilty because a lot of younger folks not that much different from me are going to be denied these benefits. No, I don't believe Millennials and Gen X and Y folks are lazier, or dumber or more profligate than I was. I just had the good fortune of being born a few decades before they were. So much for deferred expectations and work ethic. The shit level is rising fast, and now I'm reduced to betting I'll probably croak before it gets to my waist--if my luck holds out. But at least I've stopped feeling guilty about it. I'll continue to soak the system for all its worth, and live as well as I can on the taxpayer's deficits. The Boomers will be the last to pay the price because there's too many of them and they mostly vote Republican. It may be self-serving, but that's the Zeitgeist, isn't it?
