Before the election he was eager to attack any claims that Trump was racist or fascist or incompetent...
But now...
We have repeatedly asked him in the past 8 months or so if he thought Trump was fit for office, if he thought Trump was a racist... he has not once had the courage to answer that directly ... all he does is parrot what some pundits say without committing himself to a position on the matter.

But make no mistake, he WILL own this for the rest of his life- he supported this atrocity and voted for it... he will be morally responsible for all that comes from that stupidity.

He was warned repeatedly that all this would happen... and he blithely dismissed us when we pointed out the fascist and racist path Trump was marching down...

It will get far worse before its over... and it appears Rob will stick by his man til the bitter end- because the alternative would be to admit the obvious- he was a fool that got conned by a second rate huckster.

It isn't, really, but I'm cool with that.

They were so eager to get rid of the dreaded Obama and so determined to stop the unacceptable Hillary that now they realize that Barack and Clinton will always be compared favorably by history to the Trumpster, as what might have been.

In comparison with the Donald, even Anthony Weiner comes off as a statesman.

So he doesn't display signs of pre-dementia. He still OBVIOUSLY has a severe personality disorder. He has disqualified himself from being fit to be president a thousand fucking times.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?

"He’s proudly xenophobic. His idea of a counter-argument begins with personal insult. He’s unabashedly inarticulate, and distrustful of learned people."

That's very perceptive. I, too have noticed that that stereotype describes a great number of Americans. Not all, of course, (only about 30-40%) there are a lot of good, decent, and clever people in this country, but that profile you just defined is a very common and familiar American archetype. Too many people aren't just like that, they know they're like that, they like that they're like that, and what's more, they're proud of it.

For them, That is the exact opposite of "politically correct".

We can always feel smug and self-righteous, and say "I told you so".

But you're going to have to rationalize and justify, to yourself as well as others, your support for him for the rest of your life. When pressed, the only thing you're going to be able to say in his defense is that "The Liberals didn't like him."

Various serious articles about the test stressed that while, to someone who isn't cognitively impaired, the test seems childishly simple, that's kind of the point: The test will be hard for people who do have cognitive problems.

But I wonder if conservatives really understand the implications of this defense of Trump.

If Trump isn't cracked in the head when he lies, blusters, bullies, and attacks and tries to undermine our democracy, then he's doing it deliberately. He can't plead insanity.
